Mount Peter Ski Racing: Important Dates and Deadlines

Hello Mount Peter Race Club Families,

Did you know that a few ski areas in Maine were blowing snow this week!!!!  It must be that time of year again to turn our attention to ski racing!

Did you also know that the Mount Peter Race Team Parent Meeting is only 30 days away?  And that the season-opening Okemo trip is only three months away?  These are just two of the MANY important dates that require your attention.  Please take a few minutes now to review the important dates and deadlines below.  And of course, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
September 30 -- 6:00 pm -- 9:00 pm -- Racer Night at Ski Barn in Paramus, NJ.  All major ski equipment vendors and Mount Peter coaches are on hand to help with equipment needs for the upcoming season.  Our coaches take the time to attend this important event to help match equipment with each individual racer.  And best of all -- the prices are unbeatable.  This is truly the time and place to get set with ski racing equipment for the upcoming season!


October 2 -- Dryland Training - Free Team Trial Session - Dryland training begins at Velocity Sports Performance in Mahwah, NJ - 10/2 is the free Trial Session and 10/7 is when Dryland Training officially begins.  See flyer attached and don’t miss this incredible opportunity to get in shape for this race season - new for this year is a parents group.


October 6 -- 25th Annual Warwick Applefest.  The Mount Peter Race Club is participating in this year's Applefest.  Mark Mierop, Head Coach for Dynamites, is coordinating our Club's participation this year.  Please contact Mark directly at to volunteer to help at Applefest.  We earn funds at this event by helping Applefest set up vendor booths, providing information throughout the day, cleaning up, selling waters and sodas, and conducting a raffle.  This event is an important fundraiser for the Club and we ask all parents and racers to participate.  Additional information about Applefest can be found at:
October 15 -- Deadline to renew USSA and NJSRA membership.  Avoid late fees by renewing your USSA membership online at
October 18th & 19th -- Mount Peter Ski Swap and Ski Barn Annual Tent Sale at Mount Peter.  Great deals on new and used ski equipment.  Also a great time to sell equipment that no longer fits your growing racer!  Details available at

October 23 -- 7:00 PM -- Mount Peter Race Team Parent Meeting in Sunrise Lodge.  This is the annual Race Program parent meeting hosted by Race Director Rob Dowd.  Assistant Race Director Phil Godwin, Race Administrator Kelly Cossano, and the coaching staff will also be on hand.  One parent from each participant will need to attend this important meeting.  For more information, please see "2014 - 2015 Mount Peter Race Letter" at

November 2 -- Deadline for "Early Rates" to sign up for Mount Peter Race Team (includes Dynamites, Dev Team, and all USSA categories)!  Racing registration forms will be emailed and mailed early this week.  For more information, please see "2014-2015 Mount Peter Alpine Race Center Race Team Program Registration Form" at:  Don't miss this deadline!


November TBD -- The Club is looking to host a wine tasting party/fundraiser one Saturday in November.  We are close to locking in a date right now.  More information to follow on what promises to be another great adults only event!

December 5 -- 7 -- Mount Peter Race Club Pre-Season Trip to Okemo, VT.  We kick off the season with our annual Okemo trip.  Register at:    This is a great family trip and always a lot of fun for all!

Mount Peter Preseason Trip to Okemo - 2014

The Mt. Peter Ski Race Club is organizing a pre-season trip to Okemo Mountain in Vermont ( for the weekend of December 5-7, 2014.  All Mt. Peter Ski Race Club families are invited to the Okemo Camp.

This is an excellent opportunity to get on snow early and do some freeskiing with your Team Mates.

The deadline to register for the Mount Peter Race Club preseason trip to Okemo is this Friday, November 28, 2014.  This family-friendly trip is always a lot of fun for the kids and adults, so why not take a few minutes now to sign up?
